Historic Information
Located in the New Orleans Central Business District, 826 & 828 Union Street were built in 1854 and 1855, respectively. The buildings retain a high degree of architectural integrity and contribute to the district’s significance, noted as “Louisiana’s finest collection of historic commercial buildings” by its historic nomination. 828 Union Street historically functioned as a location for cotton companies as an exchange, factors, and buyers location, with the first company being Coleman, Putnam & Co. which located to the building in 1856.
