Historic Information
The James Geddes Engine Company No. 6 building was constructed in 1886. James Geddes, the fire stations namesake, immigrated to the United States from Scotland in 1851 and held many positions in the Louisville and Nashville Railroad. The former firehouse is of Victorian style and maintains much of its original character – showcasing the narrow front garage doors and circular tower that houses the original f ire pole. After a long period of neglect, the firehouse was completely renovated and housed a legal practice.
