Historic Information
The White Spot Restaurant is a notable example of post-World War II ‘Googie Style’ architecture, which traces its roots to automobile-oriented design in Southern California. Googie, a term first coined in 1952 by House & Home magazine, was a derivative of the architectural style of a Los Angeles coffee house by that same name. The White Spot Restaurants was a chain of coffee shops owned by William Clements. At their peak, Clements owned 29 locations throughout the Denver area, selling 20 of them to former managers.
