Historic Information
The A.M. Jensen Company Building, later known as the Bon Marché department store and then Macy’s department store, is located on a prominent commercial site in the Walla Walla Downtown Historic District. Originally constructed in 1919, the property has served as a location for residents and visitors to shop until the final tenant, Macy’s, closed in 2020. It represents the Neoclassical and Beaux Arts styles with mid-century Modern style through features such as veneer brick and white terra-cotta that clads the upper story of the main façades.
