Historic Information - Rutledge Hill Assemblage
The Rutledge Hill Historic District lies about one-half mile to the south southeast of downtown Nashville on a bluff above the Cumberland River known as Rutledge Hill. Rutledge Hill was once an elegant residential neighborhood, and the Rutledge Hill Historic District is the last remaining cluster of nineteenth-century buildings in the area representing the former Victorian character of Rutledge Hill. The district is located within sight of the individually-listed James Geddes Engine Company No. 6, a Victorian firehouse. Four Victorian homes within the district and the James Geddes Engine Company No. 6 were acquired in 2020.
