The Pioneer Building is a three-story office complex within the Downtown Asheville Historic District, an area of the city that includes a distinctive collection of late nineteenth and early twentieth century urban architecture in North Carolina. Constructed in 1956, the building is an early example of a mid-century modern building whose original tenants included the US Social Security Administration and the US Forest Service.
